Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in New York City, on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly. They discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, including efforts to diversify supply chains and protect strategic industries from adversarial acquisitions. Secretary Rubio and Deputy Prime Minister Tajani also signed the Italy-U.S. Memorandum of Understanding on critical minerals cooperation, launching a joint working group to advance practical cooperation on critical minerals recycling and recovery.
