On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the Government of Algeria and the Algerian people as they celebrate Independence Day on July 5.
That the United States and Algeria celebrate our national holidays just one day apart is symbolic of the close ties between our two nations. Our shared commitment to liberty and independence sustains our historic and expanding bilateral relationship. The Biden Administration looks forward to continuing to work with Algeria to increase trade, foster educational exchanges and people-to-people ties, and advance our mutual goals of regional peace and stability. I am confident our cooperation will continue this year and in years to come.
